1. TAJ MAHAL

The perfect epitome of eternal love, Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan as a memorial for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal on the bank of River Yamuna. Built entirely with white marbles, It took approx. 22 years to complete and was designated as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1983 as the ‘the jewel of Muslim art in India.’ The beauty of Taj, both of exterior and interior is truly commendable. It comprises artistic work. There are water channels and fountains at the entrance that makes Taj Mahal even more alluring.

2. RED FORT

The Red Fort or Lal Qila  is a historic fort in Delhi in India, that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperor. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned construction of the Red Fort on 12 May 1638, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. Originally red and white, its design is credited to architect Ustad Ahamad Lahori, who also constructed the Taj Mahal. The fort represents the peak in Mughal Architecture under Shah Jahan, and combines Persianate palace architecture with Indian traditions.

Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled city.

3. JAMA MASJID

We can not miss out one of the most architecture that was made by the Mughals, The Jama Masjid.  It is among the world’s largest mosques, where at least 25,000 people can pray at the same time. Considered as one of India’s gems, the Jama Masjid was built during the reign of Shah Jahan, somewhere between 1650 to 1656. It has 3 colossal domes, 131 minarets, and 4 towers from where you can witness a panoramic view of the city. It was earlier named as Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa, translating to ‘world-reflecting mosque’.

4. PARI MAHAL

India’s best-preserved examples of Mughal architecture, Pari Mahal, is an epitome of surreal beauty. If we translate it's name it means "Palace of Faries". This palace is a seven terraced garden was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan’s son, Prince Dara Shikoh. The stunning garden is home to a rich variety of trees and flowering plants, alluring visitors from far and wide. A beautiful testimony to Mughal construction in India, Pari Mahal overlooks the Dal Lake offering picturesque views of the entire city. 

5. SAFDARJUNG TOMB

 Safdarjung Tomb is among the last tombs constructed in the late Mughal architectural style. Built of marble and sandstone, this exquisite mausoleum was erected during Mughal Emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur’s reign. Its massive dome, high arches, manicured gardens, and fountain delights the tourists to the core. You can also visit the library maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and a Madrasa.
